Terms of Use
Last updated: 30 July 2026 · By using love&truth, you agree to these terms.
A short agreement for a small app. If any line below reads as though it were written to trap you, tell us — it was not, and we will fix the line.
What love&truth is
A small, private place to keep a diary, share pages with a circle you choose, and write letters one to one. It is made deliberately small and calm. It is not a broadcast platform, and it has no feed, no metrics, and no way to amplify anything.
Who you are agreeing with
These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL NAME · IČO · REGISTERED ADDRESS], trading as mutinoise, Czech Republic — “we” and “us” below. They are not an agreement with Apple; see Apple's part in this.
How old you have to be
love&truth carries private messages between people, so it is for older teens and adults. You must be at least the minimum digital-consent age where you live — 15 in the Czech Republic, 16 across much of the EU, 13 in the United States — and old enough to enter an agreement there.
Your account
Your identity is a number, tied to this device. There is no password to recover; if you lose access to your device and its key, that account and its number are gone, and you begin again with a new one. This is not a limitation we are apologising for — it is the reason nobody, including us, can be made to hand over your account. Keep your device, and its unlock, safe.
Your words, and how long they live
Your diary is yours, kept on your device. When you write a page, a sealed copy is shared with your circle and appears in their circle for up to three days, then is gone. Letters are sealed to one person and held for delivery for up to three days, then deleted from our server. We keep no archive of what you write, and the words themselves we never can read.
Your words are yours
Everything you write in love&truth belongs to you. You grant us only the narrow, temporary permission we need to carry a sealed page or letter to the person you sent it to — and that permission ends when the delivery ends, because so does the envelope. We claim no other right over your writing, now or later. We will never publish it, never license it to anyone, and never train any model on it. We could not if we wanted to: it is sealed to its reader before it reaches us.
What you may do with the app
You have a personal, non-transferable licence to use love&truth on Apple devices you own or control, under the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store terms. It is yours to use, not yours to pass on, resell, or rent.
The fee
love&truth is funded only by the people who use it — a small annual subscription, billed through the App Store. That fee is what buys the freedom from ads, investors, and data-harvesting. Nobody is ever charged without being shown the price first, and nothing you have already written is taken from you if you decide not to pay.
When a subscription is running: the price and the length of the period are shown in the app before you are charged, and the charge is made to your Apple ID. It renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends — which you do in your Apple account settings, not with us. We cannot cancel or refund it for you; refunds are Apple's to give. If we ever change the price, you will be told before it applies, and you can leave.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you normally have fourteen days to change your mind about a digital purchase. Because access begins the moment you buy, you ask us to start immediately and accept that the fourteen days end once it has. You can still cancel the renewal whenever you like.
A place without cruelty — zero tolerance
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree not to use love&truth to harass, threaten, or harm anyone, nor to send unlawful, hateful, or abusive content.
- You can block anyone, at any time, ending all contact between you.
- You can report a person or a shared page. We review reports and act on them — removing content and ejecting abusive users — as promptly as we reasonably can.
Because letters are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot read their contents; reporting a letter shares the specific message you choose with us so we can act.
If we ever act on your account
If we remove something you sent or end your account, we will tell you what we did and why, in plain words, and you can write back and argue with a person. We would rather be wrong for an afternoon than unaccountable. The one thing we cannot undo is deletion you asked for yourself — that is immediate and complete by design.
Fair use
Please don't try to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the app or its limits (such as one entry a day), automate accounts, or use it to harm the service or other people.
What we owe you, and what we don't
love&truth is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it safe and available, and we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, never fail to deliver something, and never contain a mistake.
Where the law lets us limit what we owe you, we limit it to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem. For an app that costs about twenty dollars a year, that is an honest description of the size of us, not a trick.
Nothing here limits what cannot be limited: our own fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any right your consumer law gives you that an agreement is not allowed to take away. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or anywhere with mandatory protections, you keep them in full.
Apple's part in this
You get love&truth through the App Store, and Apple requires us to say the following. All of it is true.
- This agreement is between you and us. Apple is not a party to it, and we alone are responsible for love&truth and everything in it.
- Support is ours, not Apple's. Apple has no obligation to help you with this app. Write to peace@mutinoise.com and a person will answer.
- If the app fails to do what it promises, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund what you paid for it. Beyond that refund, Apple owes you nothing in relation to this app — anything else is ours to answer for.
- Any claim about the app — that it caused harm, that it failed to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, that it infringes someone's intellectual property, or any consumer-protection claim — is ours to answer and ours to bear, not Apple's.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a United States embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You agree to comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and have the right to enforce them against you.
If these terms change
We will post the new version here with a new date, and if the change matters we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop and delete your account — which, as always, is available, immediate, and complete.
Ending
You may stop and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, especially the rule against cruelty.
Governing law, and where you can complain
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, where mutinoise is based, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, that does not take away the protections of the law where you live: you keep the mandatory rights of your own country and may bring a claim in your local courts.
The rest
If a court finds one of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about love&truth. If the app ever changes hands, this agreement may pass with it — and you would be told, and could leave.
